Fields Paintings
My Fields paintings explore the marks made by farmers when working a field. The marks on the paintings are limited to the types of marks a farmer makes when irrigating, plowing, planting, harvesting, etc. Like much of my earlier work, they combine visual rhetoric from landscape and from Modernist form.
I’m also conscious of color use in contemporary culture. I draw my color from what I see in art and fashion and in the world. This is a pretty straightforward mash-up of the marks made by farmers and contemporary painting.
